Dave Edwards ARB/RIBA, Director

Director Dave Edwards has over fourteen years professional experience across a number of high profile practices and has worked principally based in London since 2007.   The projects that he has worked on range widely in scale and across multiple sectors.  Prior to founding DeD Studio he spent over five years as an Architect and Digital Specialist then Senior Architect at world renowned Swiss practice Herzog De Meuron. He started his collaboration at the firms London office in 2015, before moving to work in their Basel HQ and Hong Kong branch between 2016 and 2018 before returning to the London studio until 2020.  

During those years he collaborated on over a dozen projects across four continents, notably the One Park Drive residential development in Canary Wharf, London,  the new studio complex for the Royal College of Art in Battersea, Vancouver Art Gallery and for over 3 years overseeing the construction of the M-Plus Gallery complex in Hong Kong, which is the first publicly run gallery in China.  This project all opened to the public in 2021 and has receiving critical acclaim and 2million visitors in its first year of operation.  

Prior to this Dave has extensive experience across a number of London practices. Dave was an architect at Stirling prize winning FCBS, a designer at ACME London for 2 years principally working on the multi RIBA award winning Leeds Victoria project which opened in 2016 and designer at NEX Architecture where he gained experience on smaller residential projects, both in the refurbishment and new build sectors, and some bespoke fabrications/installations.

Outside of this professional practice, as of 2022 he is an educator at London’s prestigious Bartlett school of Architecture within UCL, teaching first year, year two and Masters students, having been involved with the school as a teacher for six years.   He has also acted as an invited critic, speaker and visiting tutor at UoW, UCLA, as well as at UCL.

As Director Dave guides the design and technical development projects from inception to completion, supports and mentors staff, and acts as the face of the practice, and ensures that all projects hit the required standards of quality we and our clients expect.  He is a registered architect with the ARB and chartered with the RIBA since the end of 2014, having studied architecture at the University of Bath and UCL.
